Both great trucks. I'm a GM guy, but drive both and pick which you like. You can't go wrong with either.

No problems from my Eco F150. Even with 4.10's I still can knock down 22mpg highway, if I keep my foot out of it. My overall MPG for the last 5,000 miles is 18.4mpg, and that sitting in 35 construction traffic through lewisville everyday...."Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

I've got just under 40K on my 13' EB, have had it since brand new, and I'll put it this way...if it were stolen or totaled tomorrow, I'd go buy another one just like it, with only one exception - I'd get the 6.5' bed instead of the 5.5'. It isn't a good sounding engine, but it makes up for that in many other ways. Its mostly just quiet (aside from turbo spool) If you keep stock exhaust on it. That could be a sticking point for some, but it doesn't bother me....I've got other cars that do sound good when I need my fix. This is my truck....its used to haul, tow, and travel...so I really don't care how it sounds. You may be different. I can't speak to the newer GM's, but I think they are good looking trucks and I've made it no secret that I like the LS engines. I just don't care as much for the build quality of their interiors, and its my impression that GM will be happy to screw people if you have problems (they will all screw you, GM just seems to be worse when it comes to standing behind things).
Some guys moan about MPG, but I'm convinced most are just Ford haters who've never owned one, or others who can't keep their foot out of the boost. No, they don't do as good as the claims on the window sticker (unless you constantly drive in ideal conditions at ideal speeds), but if you drive civilized they aren't far off. If you are heavy on the skinny pedal, it simply will not do as well....which I'm pretty sure is the same story for every vehicle....especially heavy ones. I've also heard guys bitching about MPG, but then you find out they've got huge tires, lift, brodozer, etc....and...well, Duh!
Mine is a CC FX4, and when just doing normal commute driving (unloaded), every tank averages between 16 and 17.5....more towards the lower end when its really hot out, and towards the upper end in the cooler months (probably AC vs no AC, but it does run noticeably better when it's cool out). On long hwy trips it is usually around 20mpg, but I've seen as good as 23 a few times....but again, speed makes a huge difference, keeping it around 70mpg is when it does best. Cranking it up to 80mph on those long trips will cut mpg a couple points, always. I tow 2 different trailers on a regular basis....an open 18' car trailer, and a 22' enclosed Haulmark. 18' with a car on it brings me down around 12-13 on hwy trips, and the 22' sucks it all the way down around 9-10 on average. I can't say non-hwy, b/c I really don't measure that with it being partial trips....I've only measured with the trailers on long trips. However, there have been times when I've hauled 50-100 miles within a tank where the rest is normal unloaded driving, and those tanks usually drop my tank average down around 14-15. I can also say that this truck tows better than any other 1/2 ton I've owned...it even tows better than some of the older 3/4 ton trucks I've owned.
FWIW - My truck is bone stock with 3.55's, however I have been thinking about putting an SSI tune in it, now that it has some miles on it.70' Chevelle RagTop

Do NOT do an SSI tune please if you want to keep your motor. There are some good tunes and tuners out there. Steer clear of ssi.2014 GT

I have a 13 EB FX2. Love the truck. Mostly stock with an AEM dry flow filter.
Around town and I can't keep my foot out of the throttle bc it's too much fun I get 16.4 mpg.
If I drive it like a granny I get 18mpg and I've done a few road trips and I'll get 21 mpg.
I got 17 mpg avg from Houston to Denton pulling the mustang. Mostly highway at 70-75mph but I did cut over to 35w through a bunch of 1 stop light towns so that may have brought it down a bit.
Love the truck. So comfortable. Very quick and pulls like nothing is back there.2014 GT

I have had the infamous intercooler condensation issue happen on my '13 EB FX2, and I believe the '13s have the updated design. It was worse case scenario, with driving around the mountains in the rain for a few days and not really getting on the throttle at all. Then coming home it was cold and foggy and I had been highway cruising for about an hour. When I went to pass a semi at 60, floored it and got hesitation and limp mode. Restarted it in neutral and all was good. I figure it has been building up for a few days with cold and high humidity with no full throttle.
That has been the only issue in 40k miles. Oh and putting larger/Heavier tires will kill your MPG, same as any truck.
