Just remember you get what you pay for. When I first bought my house, I went with the cheapest ins i could find. Then my shit got struck by lightning and ended up costing me about 4k when all said and done. Would have not been so bad if I would have had good insurance i'm sure. I have Liberty Mutual now.

Call Mutherjuggz. She'll make sure you don't get screwed on coverage and will get you the best price.

We changed over to Farmer's from AllRape last year. Allstate raised our rate to $3,900 from $2,200 the previous year and said it was because of the zipcode we are in. ???? Farmer's came in at $2,087 for more coverage than we had before. Now with saying all that, we have not had a claim with Farmer's so I cant tell you what kind of customer service they have when you have a claim.

I've had Travelers and now MetLife. I just go for the cheapest rate... in 6 years of owning my home I've been lucky and never needed to file a claim <insert sound of me knocking on wood here>.

The next time I want some insurance slinger to speak to me with a patronizing, condescending tone, I'll keep it in mind.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I've got Amica for home and car. Great customer service and way better than the State Farm prices I used to pay. I'd at least put them on the list to call and get a quote.

Go with a company that can also do your auto, etc. The more policies you have with them, the more discounts you'll get. We're with Allstate (home & auto) and the rates are decent. They did go up some on the house, but only $300 or so (from 800 to 1100).

Also, be sure to get an HO-B policy that covers water damage & other items that an A policy won't cover.

If you qualify, then AARP Insurance is really good. They basically give you The Hartford’s car and home insurance; good rates and great service, I can vouch for that!
