*Note on the camera. It will be the first thing they mess with...

I have great luck on my place and my presence in the last 3-4 years has been enough to keep the poachers at bay. They were terrible before but, I still have buddies that get cameras stolen and feeders knocked over constantly. I helped one of them build a serious game camera mount with a cage/lock around his camera. He went from replacing one each time he went down to non stolen in the last year. There are a few manufacturers for said mounts/boxes as well.

Edit: Something along these lines or post mount.

I solved an issue like this by putting up a few very obvious and cheap cameras that were covered by very high quality and extremely well hidden cameras. The cheapies were broken within a few days netting lots of perfect pictures from the hidden cameras.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

but seriously, can you just leave something like the old style bear traps laying around on your property?

          No, because donkeys

My rebar idea was based on the punji stick
Ronald Reagan:"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

Homer: "Bart...there's 2 things I know about women. Never give them nicknames like "jumbo" or "boxcar" and always keep receipts...it makes you look like a business man."

                Cameras are the obvious answer.

The asshole in me wants to booby trap a feeder with flash bombs, rubber pellet grenades, loud firecrackers, that kinda shit. Hopefully there are no actual deer around when it goes off, lol.

                  Trouble makers on ranch

If you think you know who it is, go confront him. Tell him you have good clear pictures, but you would rather not cause trouble if the problem ceases. Otherwise, you will go to the law. If the problem keeps up, maybe it was someone else. He might know and stop it himself if he thinks you are believing it is him. Or, put up signs that say, "ANTHRAX, KEEP OUT"
