There is a decent chance they are simply leasing a bus and paying for it only when they use it. At least that would make more sense.

As stated before, $2000 for a texting violation on one of those semi drivers. The reporter stated that they caught 86 violations in just 3 hours. That's a load of revenue.

I'm somewhat torn on this one. I think one of the reasons the police have so much friction with the populous these days is because they are viewed as nothing more than revenue collectors for city governments. IMO that really is the case in a lot of cities. This tactic probably lends itself well to that perception.

However, in the video at least, they were going after people texting or otherwise driving distracted. That's a real problem that gets too many people killed. I've now been in two accidents caused by distracted drivers. I'm all for cops taking action in an attempt to stop it. However this tactic still rubs me the wrong way. I especially didn't like that cops comments about how people act when they think they aren't being watched. The way he said it was kinda creepy.

And this, dear friends, is why dark tint is your friend. Also, as Yale said the other night while the two of us were talking: "creeping dictatorship."

It's simply a revenue ploy. If the revenue from future citations didn't offset the expense of the bus and personnel and plus some, they wouldn't be doing it. There are plenty of criminals to go after to preserve public safety are real evil in this world. Seat belts and texting??? Goodness.

Not saying I'm about this, but texting and driving allegedly causes more crashes than DUI, which I tend to believe after I saw some dumbfuck rearend a semi.

What's that throw glass at a rock house thingy?

FWPD officers have had their fair share of drunken driving accidents and arrests....

Don't forget all the coffee drinkers.

You know what they aren't using tax dollars for????

Charging Hillary Clinton, Lois Lerner, BLM members, and Eric Holder for their crimes.

Heaven forbid the rest of us serfs not buckle our seat belts.

The revenue of this new campaign will surely help fund the militarization of municipal PDs or worse.... More red light cameras.

Which means you're going to blow a circuit once Clinton becomes next POTUS.

Orwell, you mean? And although 1984 predicted some of the controls and monitoring we see, it seems Brave New World may have been a bit more accurate in terms of perceived freedom that they use to distract you.

I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.
