  • Hurricane Patricia

Daaamn, this is about to fuck some shit up. I was just there in March, and a lot of the hotels were still remodeling from the last hurricane they had.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center predicted the Category 5 Hurricane Patricia would make a “potentially catastrophic landfall” in southwestern Mexico later in the day.

Tens of thousands of people were being evacuated Friday from Mexico's Pacific coast as the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Western Hemisphere bore down on thepopular tourist area packing sustained winds of 200 mph.

The center described the storm as the most powerful ever recorded in the eastern Pacific or Atlantic basins.

Wonder if the locals are being made aware or if the government is trying not to "hype the situation"? I could see their government saying "no problemo".

Wonder if Jim Cantore is there to ride that one out?

Yeah that sucks, and right after the category 4 just hit the philippines last week. Maybe it will wipe out some cartels, though.

Been reading about it, massive storm. Trying to imagine getting hit by Tornado like sustained winds while dumping tons of rain. The coastal towns are going to get wrecked.

It's gonna be a double whammy!!! 200+mph winds... The eye/clear blue skies... Then wham... Round 2

I seriously could not imagine trying to ride that out... There will be many missing/dead. I feel for the poor outside and further inland from the tourist areas. Tin roof shacks are no match for what is going to strike.

Watching the weather channel now. They are talking with a guy there and he said the shelters have put tape (X's) on the windows. He said, "I am no engineer but I don't think that is going to help in this situation". They are using structures with a lot of glass and no interior rooms for true shelter.

Also wonder what the looting situation is going be like after?

Should be plenty of work for our illegals to do afterwards...

Should be fine, there aren't too many black people there.

SVO once rode out a hurricane in 1872. It was a storm of most epic proportions which only those able to withstand the backhand of God himself would survive. The storm was named Hurricane Enrique before making landfall. Afterwards, the annals of history would indicate it was the only storm to ever have it's name changed. Today, that epic storm is known as Hurricane SVO's Bitch.

SVO also survived the hurricane that flattened Galveston in 1900.
