This meme reminded me of a certain... well I really don't know what to call it. Awkwardness? That some seem to have when they ask if you have kids and you basically say "no, and I don't want any". In most cases, there is also a detectable amount of butthurt in their facial expression, and often in their reply to that response. I said "basically" because I try to put it gently when they ask, due to the responses given that lead to the creation of this thread.
What's this about? Only thing I can come up with, is that they're thinking back to their life before they had the kids. Yes I know, all of you with kids would die to protect them, and you couldn't live without them, and on and on. I'm sure I'd feel the same way. But its not everyone that you get this from, just some people. Some people seem to take some sort of offense at the fact that you don't want to participate in the whole thing. And man, do I ever not want to participate. My friend's with kids make the whole thing look pretty miserable. Nothing I'd want any part of, for sure.
Anyway, cue two unrelated responses before Don closes the thread.
