  • Anyone have experience with karaoke systems?

I want to get one for the house. One that could interface with my home theater. Show the lyrics on the TV, play the audio through my speakers, and support 2 or 3 mics.

Given the fact that some of the songs I'd like to mess around with may not be mainstream or available on a canned karaoke disc or catalog, is there a way to strip or mute the vocal track out of commercially recorded discs or downloads?
On those, on screen lyrics wouldn't be needed either.

My girl is quite the vocalist and it would be a blast to rock out together in the house... be a cool Christmas present.

That would be just great, because I intend to sing a couple of Tool songs I've been practicing. They are difficult..
