Granted, we don't eat everything we see, but we get the experience.
If there is a highlight at all to going out there, it's riding some of the rides. That shit gets expensive. We play a few games for the hell of it, too. We like to sample several of the food items, even though we are disappointed EVERY single time. Heck, we don't drink much, if any. But after parking, rides, games, and food... $300 goes pretty quick.

When it's cooler out we might go. I will not drive my own vehicle though. Dart or nothing

                  and another thing....

The boots on the new Big Tex are way out of proportion to the rest of the body... those things are at least 25% oversize.

                  What up wit' dat?

YES! I have been telling everyone this! He looks stupid! I can't believe all the work that went into rebuilding him....what like $400k they said? and THIS was the best they could do?

This is the first year in 15 years we are not planning to go. Each year it seems to shrink. In the past there have been free things and giveaways that were fun. Also, tired of seeing some of the same old stuff. We will likely skip this year.

I think I'd rather sit in 820 traffic then go to the fair!

Went today, Fletcher dog was good next to the half man show. Rockwall schools fair day today so it was pretty nice out there. We got there about 9:30 and parked about 6 rows from the gate. With 3 kids it can get expensive. I give the big kids 60 bucks each(freshman and senior) and get 100 bucks for me, wife, and 4th grader. Food, a few rides, and a lot of free a/c shows and its 6pm and we are headed for the gate. When I got in the car I thought "another year, another ass whipping, full stomach and the kids are happy as a queer at a wiener roast"
