              I set the telescope up (pita) and the moon just looks dark , nothing yet

                It's a dull red doesn't show too good in the scope, I much prefer a regular full moon on a clear night

                  It is a supermoon as well. A supermoon is when it is closest to the earth because the moons orbit is an ellipse. Both are happening at the same time.

                      You may have seen it bigger when it was closer to the horizon. Its called the moon illusion. The moon looks larger when closer to the horizon because you have reference points such as buildings and trees. When its further from the horizon you don't have any reference points. It is in fact closer to earth than it normally is.

                          makes sense. ive seen the moon huge, but only during daylight in the morning and it was closer to the horizon
