He wanted to disassemble a alarm clock as a project for some engineering class.

That alarm is purely in the hands of the awesome police officers of irving. That same statement can be used if i brought a lego minifigure holding a mini case that says bomb on it. If the awesome police officer thinks its a real bomb, which clearly its not, then that portion of the law can be applied.

    Lets play find the explosives.
    I can't find any???
You arent right, but i have a feeling it doesnt matter to you.

He didnt have a project remotely related to this for school. This was just him acting on his own accord.

Also, since he didnt get the reaction he was looking for, he set the alarm to go off during class.

Unfortunately for him, the law says any device that "by its design causes alarm or reaction of any type by an official of a public safety agency" is considered a hoax bomb.

So we know that he didn't engineer anything. All he did was put clock parts in a case - which is to say, he designed it - specifically to look like a small fake bomb. There's definitely enough evidence here to charge him with a Class A Mister Meaner.

Anybody who reads the details of that case ceases to cite it as lunacy IMO

A: It appeared to be a bomb. It doesn't have to have explosives to actually appear to be a bomb

B: Is purely your opinion. It made did cause alarm.

You must be mentally challenged. Go back to the kids table and let the adults talk.

Edit: Sorry for the gasser64 type question. It seems there is a lot of stupid judgments in court these days.
