Congrats! I've never been to NC, but it has to be better than TX and LA. The only thing I miss about Texas is family, friends, and the food. I can't really think of any other redeeming qualities.

But seriously, the carolinas are great. Moving out there would be even easier with a big pay raise because cost of living is low there.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Needless to say, I can't wait for Oct 1st to get here. I should have most, if not all, of my projects at HP squared away by then so I won't screw over any customers.
I wish I could see the look in the eyes of the higher ups. Some are gonna be pissed. My direct manager is the only one I care about. The rest are worthless. It really pisses me off when I think of the great organization we built in EDS/HP, only to see it worn down to a shell of its former self by incompetent managers and execs that have admitted they have no idea how to run a consulting group.
But that's almost over and done with, so on to better things.

My career shift started almost 2 years ago, and there was turmoil along the way, but I can tell you that I have never once looked back and regretted anything - including location moves, title moves, etc. You'll be fine, and in 18-24 months you'll probably look back on this post and think, "Hell yeah, that's when it started getting even better."

Our CEO retired about 4 years ago and since then our entire upper management (Director level and up) has been replaced. They released nearly (if not more now) 30,000 employees.
I think it is mainly accredited to how as a company we had to adjust for new business contracts and adjust costing to stay competitive.
They threw this whole pitch how we are trying to "organize our-self to industry standards and to be better in line with our competitors." It was also extremely obvious they were trying to sell the company, our commercial, non-government sector atleast. Well they couldn't even do that. After 2-3 years no one wants it.
Glad you found something and good luck. I started looking a few months prior to being let go and still can't find anything after 6 months.Originally posted by Cmarsh93zDon't Fuck with DFWmustangs...the most powerfull gang I have ever been a member of.
