Well the thread's over, so let the arguing begin.
You're just unlucky then. Everyone's different, bruh. With me, I just need to get past a "breaking in" stage, when I first get back into lifting. I passed that about 2 months ago, but felt it was worth mentioning. Those weeks really suck. Some real pain there. Difficult to move. Once that's over, I just get some small soreness, even while steadily increasing in weight.
Now, that's not to say that I can't ever feel any soreness. If I press on the muscles, or if I do something that makes that muscle work pretty hard, I can feel some soreness that's mild at most. That's it. I can beat the shit out of them in the gym and get pretty sore, but from personal experience I find its not actually necessary for muscle growth. Just a steady weight increase. I do what works for me. And it does work, so I'm not changing it.
For example leg day. What I'll try to do, is get 4 sets of 12 on squats. So if I achieve that, I'll do that again next week. Until finally that weight is "easy". Can't ever really call it easy. Then its time to pile on more weight. For me, I usually do increments of 20 lbs. If I was only able to get 3 sets of 12, and 1 set of say 6, or 10, I know its not time to move up in weight yet.
If I recall weren't you suppose to show everyone a dumbbell rack you made a while back? Were you afraid that was going to get photoshopped? I really wanted to see that too.Originally posted by Cmarsh93zDon't Fuck with DFWmustangs...the most powerfull gang I have ever been a member of.

Well, I hate stretching, but my legs and back have been a mess. I have small discs in my back genetically and have already had surgery (microdiscectomy) which wasn't a big deal, but it was still back surgery. My back was/is still weak, so anytime I tried to start working out hard or running more than little bit, I'd throw my back out.
Long story short, I've done that 57 minute stretch DVD like 20 times now and am quite a bit more flexible. HUGE, HUGE difference now in how I feel overall and I can work out quite a bit more now without hurting myself.
Stretching and also probably getting occasionally massages is critical to avoiding injury and being healthier overall. I always ignored stretching basically or would just stretch for a minute before working out. That was stupid.Ford
