I'll never understand why people don't remove their plates when you sell a vehicle. I've had buyers tell me that they are nervous about driving it home with no plates. Too bad. That's what a transit permit is for. Takes about 5 minutes on the DMV website. If you leave your plates/registration sticker on the car they will be in NO hurry to get it titled/registered. Even trading in at a dealership, remove your plates.

I had a guy get pissed two days ago because I pulled my purple heart plates off a bike. He threw a fit about me removing them. I informed him the plates were linked to me, not just the bike and they transfer vehicle to vehicle as long as I live.
People get pissed when you boost them a bit to get their new ride legal because you pull plates.I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

I haven't always removed the plates, because I didn't know shit like this could come back on you. Then it happened to me. I've pulled plates off of every vehicle I've sold since. And yes, they tend to get cranky. I've always said "I sold you a car, not a license plate. Here is your money if you want it back." They usually stop at that point.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

You have to send this in. State form VTR-346(transfer of title) Same thing happened to me this year, sold two cars.
In both cases I received bills from NTTA with over 150 bucks in tolls. Soo glad I did this.
It was a simple phone call to NTTA to verify that I did indeed sell the car before the tolls were accrued..

I went to jail back in 2006 after I sold my truck and did not remove the plate or send in the transfer of title form.
Guy I sold the truck to decided to go through a McDonald's drive thru with a 10 foot deer blind and leave after causing damage to the building. Plate still came back to me so a warrant was issued.

No need to pull plates, unless you want to keep a vanity plate. Send in the top portion of the title. Or take a few minutes and fill out the form online. I did that with my last vehicle. The plates & sticker were very new so I was sure they wouldn't transfer it over until they expired.

Just figured I'd pop in and tell you what you should have done 5 years ago rather than something helpful now.Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.
