My dad bought my niece one when she started driving. $800 for a relatively clean 4 year old car at the time seemed like a steal. She drove it for a couple of years before hitting a pot hole that on a normal car might have bent a wheel but on that shitbox it damaged the subframe which of course totalled it.

Why do Yugos have a rear window defroster?

To keep your hands warm when you are pushing it.

39th of the 50 worst cars ever made according to Time Magazine

Malcolm Bricklin, he of the Bricklin SV1, wouldn't be satisfied until he had forced every American to walk to work. To that end, in 1985, he began importing the Yugo GV, which turned out to be the...

The cars were so bad the country that produced them and their namesake no longer exists.

It was so bad, not even Milošević would push...I mean drive one.

There is a guy that shows up frequently at Kellers with his Yugo, sporty edition, whatever its called. I beg you, do not look at his car, make eye contact, or say anything about his pride and joy. He will try to talk your ear off about how neat and rare his car is, and totally fuck up your night.

When I first got into the car audio scene there was a guy that'd show up to most of the sound offs with a white Yugo that had a wall of 15s. I'm amazed the door hinges didn't rip out when it hit a bass line.

What was that casino in Vegas that had a bunch of nice/expensive cars in the top room, something Palace? I was there in like 2001 and they had a low mileage Yugo for $13K!

Palace Station has a pretty big showroom/museum. Next to Bally's and their trippy neon walkway.

That's it! That place was a dump! I hated the room I booked, but it was cheap I guess. Glad it is no longer there, but I wouldn't stay again if it were.

I had a Fiat 128 once and it was the same car basically.

I always liked the shape of them.

I liked the Ford Fiesta too.

A quick search of Craigslist shows that a clean Yugo sells for about what they sold for new.
