because there are still phases to any project. If it's a 18 months schedule it better take 18 months, not more not less. We budget our guys to be there for 18 months. if the demo crew gets done on tuesday, cool, the new crew wont be here til next tueday, no need to call them this wednesday, they are on another project.

Coordination/Planning/Schedules. thats all it boils down to.

I get that if we're talking a week or two, but if you know you're doing 3 miles of heavily trafficked highway, how on God's green earth does it sit for 3+ MONTHS?

        that would take more money

If its done early thats good. That project saved that much money and some people get a bigger penis i mean bonus. There are phasing but there are hiccups and other work that get in the way. Ex. After half assing the frontage to switch traffic so we can build the other side. Other work has finishedon the highway either we can swith traffic or begin demo of the highway

Yeeeeah, I got about half of that. You don't have to keep explaining that more money is better than less money, but reasons for the project sitting like that in the big picture are still a question mark.

That was the most shocking thing aboutvthe work by my house. They chose the Saturday before school started to do that particular section. So now, people are dealing with the school zone, associated traffic, and freshly sealed road with no lines

around the corner from my house, 20" from the elementary school, they cut the sidewalk up the friday before school started, and then left the hole with barricades around it for the first two days of school. The police had to come block off a lane of traffic to give all the kids ( and their parents, tons of them on the first day) room to walk to the school.

Whoever scheduled those two jobs in Royse city and fate along with the TxDOT inspector, needs to be kicked in the balls, twice.

Who on God's green earth ever thought it was a good idea to (1) award sll those jobs to the same company (2) start them all at once (3) design the traffic switches the way they did?

That shit on 30 through fate looks like Stevie Wonder set the K-rails. My kids could do a better job than that with Lego. And your pothole crews should be shot and used for backfill material.

But, hey, I'm sure someone in Austin got a nice fat 'contribution' out of the whole deal.

Two spot they have gone back and added more asphalt. I dont know why they dont rip it out and strengthen the subgrade. But im not the boss. One thing you can do is complain to TxDot.
