I don't view any of this as a bad thing. And there are a few things that I would like to buy any way so it is buying opportunity.

Besides, the S&P futures are at +54 right now anyway. Sounds like a very stable market!

            J/k. (about the 100g too)
You are down 100g because you bought that GT3!

Once again the conservative, sandwich-heavy portfolio pays off for the hungry investor.

Ytd for my 401 is now at -11.9%. So I throw money into this thing and when I retire I may or may not have profited?

                    You're retiring tomorrow?

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Since starting full time June 2014 I'm at -16.9%. I don't see how this program will benefit me in the long run.

From that timeframe the S&P is down 1%, the Dow down 6%, Russell2k down 5%, AGG (bonds) is up 3%, and global equity is off 8%.

What investments are you in that are doing so shitty?

                          1.Man up.
                          2. Employers typically match up to a certain percentage, so I assume yours does too. You don't see the benefit of free money?
                          3. 15 months isn't near enough time to see the benefits of compound interest.
                          4. The market has always recovered historically.
                          5. Man up.
                          6. Stop panicking.
                          7. Man up.
