Typically in the heat, if you can get live shad - the striper bite in the deeper water when hot.

The only way I'll go out on a lake on a day like this. Is to have a boat and park that bitch under a bridge. Or night fishing. I typically only go spring and fall.
But awhile back I went to fork in mid summer. We hit the water around 6am. Got shitload of large mouths Average fish with 7 to 8 pounds. But around noon once the heat started we had to move out the deeper water we were fishing 30 foot deep Croppie brush. Around 1 PM said fuck it too hot.
And no it's not the same fish. My cousin carpe few more than I did though.
