Typically in the heat, if you can get live shad - the striper bite in the deeper water when hot.

The only way I'll go out on a lake on a day like this. Is to have a boat and park that bitch under a bridge. Or night fishing. I typically only go spring and fall.
But awhile back I went to fork in mid summer. We hit the water around 6am. Got shitload of large mouths Average fish with 7 to 8 pounds. But around noon once the heat started we had to move out the deeper water we were fishing 30 foot deep Croppie brush. Around 1 PM said fuck it too hot.

And no it's not the same fish. My cousin carpe few more than I did though.

I'd like to stay with in an hour or so from dfw airport and it wouldn't hurt to actually catch something while I'm at it. Any recommendations on fishing spots? tia
The I30 bridge on Hubbard bank fishing about 5am is a good spot for bass.

The pond off of riverside dr in Grand Prairie behind the apts has bass in it. Small but fun to catch. I just used a fluke and sprayed it with bang

Fished the one on the right for all of 30 minutes before it decided to rain for the first time in a month. Decided to go find the one on the left while I waited for the rain to let up. Dropped to 80 degrees which was nice and tried my hand at the left spot but I couldn't catch a cold. I had stink bait out for catfish while I worked a worm in my other and didn't see so much a nibble.

I've never had much luck after storms personally. Right before them the fish seem to feed like crazy, but after - I usually just drown/kill a bunch of live bait trying.

This is true. As soon as it starts to rain the bass turn vicious.

Also I really want to try this swim bait. Looks too damn real, and it gets excellent reviews online I'd just be too afraid of losing the damn thing at that price.

Went out to lake waxahachie and fished off the dam. I usually use plastic bait but didn't have the right stuff to setup how I wanted. I just threw a spinner bait out there for an hour got 1 small bass. I always do better between 6-8 pm or at sun up

22 bux for a lure? Plastic works just as good and a lot cheaper

That's the spot I am talking about in my earlier post, but much further up. Maybe 100 yards from the actual spillway.

I was just driving on 80 towards Dallas and saw some mexicans down there fishing. It looked like a good spot, you down?
