I just read the other thread on this. Sounds like he is acting as a broker without the proper operating authority or surety bond. His business name, and DOT number are for a carrier operating authority, not broker authority.

    http://nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov/hc_discla...n&ctype=broker

File a complaint and maybe that will get him shutdown eventually. All new carriers are required to have a DOT safety audit, and I am guessing his will be coming up in the next 6 months due to his DOT#. One or two complaints like this should earn him a few hefty fines or maybe even an out of service order. If nothing else, that will earn him a little extra scrutiny which = a big pain in the ass. If you need any help, let me know.

Typically the licensing and insurance link in the top right corner brings up a carriers proof of insurance, but there is nothing there.

This would have been a red flag for me...

U.S. DOT# 2629954 has no current for-hire operating authority with FMCSA.

Obviously reputation doesn't matter to some people in the transport.

Holy shit. KEYS IN THE FUCKING TAILPIPES????

Did you get pictures of the damage by any chance? Probably cost more to fix/replace than he was charging for the transport.

Sounds like he wanted it to get stolen, but why would he want that?

Sounds like he was leaving the car exposed so it would get gone.

    Report it to Central Dispatch.

Give me a call and I'll show you a few ways to check carriers out before you use them. Sent PM with number.
