  • "Adult Owned".... really ?

Does that phrase mean anything as to the quality of a automobile, compared to 30 years ago when someone said it.

I very rarely work on a vehicle that's not owned by a adult.

Usually means that it hasn't been hotrodded or beat on. Doesn't always happen that way.

They still get beat on just not as bad as a 21 and younger male driver.

But really it doesn't mean shit. We all know what to look for and if buying a hotrod its expected.

These days I think adult owned means the the person probably has no idea that they treated the car like shit because they dont know anything about them.

I do think that 20 or more years ago that adult owned meant responsibly owned. Not anymore.

I could have advertised every car I've had for the last 25 years as "adult owned", and all that would mean was that someone slightly older was the one beating the living shit out of the car.

And all just lies to try to attract more attention. Those professions would seem to indicate it was better taken care of, or seldom used

ASE certified makes me more nervous. I am a mechanic and I hate working on my own shit. Usually put off repairs until it's absolutely necessary.

In a vehicles first three years of life it experiences roughly 2 oil changes and 50k miles.

The greatest risk in buying a used car is a 3-5 year old vehicle with less than 80k miles on a private used car lot. It is just barely out of warranty, with enough mileage to make it affordable and has been neglected all of its life between lot clean ups for sale. The average consumer sees the 3 year old vehicle that has been shampoo'd up to its door handles and thinks why not

Then bam they come in to autozone telling me it was ruNing fine yesterday and can't fathom why a car needs a new battery or what an oxygen sensor is and they can't afford to fix it because they only work part time at Walmart and can barely afford the xar.payment plus insurance

And so the cycle continues for nearly every used family sedan, or more so any 4 door car made by nissan
