We had to tear down my 05 Chev C5500 rollback to address some other issues so I thought what better time to do the king pins. I thought the ball joint press I had would work, but isn't quite wide enough. I thought maybe I would put a feeler out there to see if anyone had access to an actual king pin press that we can use on the vehicle. If we have to, we are going to pull the axle in the morning, but unthought why not try DFWM first.

Is it a bigger c clamp you need? Have one bigger than ones that come in store bought sets but its at work

King pin press? Out in our shop we work on heavy duty trucks and just beat them out with a hammer and punch. YMMV.

Sorry for the late reply. We've been working on it all day. The ball joint c clamp that you buy from HF isn't big enough to fit. We have hammered the shit out of it and it has moved at all. Without a press this thing is going no where fast.

Make sure you have a jackstand as close as possible to the king pin

Wish I had that kind of room for a big sledge hammer. I'm trying to get them out without having to pull the axle.

I misread the title and thought you were looking for "fools tonight". But you aren't so never mind.

There are a lot of times bolts holding the king pin into the axle. Did you remove them?
