In summary - 2 wrongs don't make a right!

She was looking for trouble and he was a little man with a badge.

I wouldn't say she was looking for trouble. Forgetting to signal isn't looking for trouble. Instead she failed to maintain control over her emotions.

There is plenty of blame to go around on the arrest. She should have kept her trap shut. He shouldn't have escalated the situation even more. She shouldn't have kicked him (allegedly). However I weigh this more on the officer because he's supposed to be the professional here. He had no business telling her to put out a cig. He had no business pulling her out of the car and threatening her with the taser. If he had done the right thing, he would have just handed her the warning and sent her on her way. At worse, he should have changed the warning to a genuine ticket.

As for the suicide, I'm reserving judgement. I can see how this could have escalated so far that she would kill herself but it's damn fishy.

I also want more information on whether or not the video was edited. If it WAS edited, there should be hell to pay.


edit: The lesson of the day is clear to most of us though, don't screw with a man that has a gun and a badge. Even if you're in the right, you're gonna be wrong. In this case, you're gonna be dead.

Cop is at fault. He should have watched that video where the insane guy is in a SUV screaming, ranting & raving, tears up the ticket, throws it on the ground, the cop makes him pick it up, guy gets back in SUV still going crazy and cop remains calm.

The woman was a stupid B obviously but the cop escalated the situation instead of just telling her to have a nice day while she was running her dumb mouth.

Texas DPS are the worst when it comes to calming a bad situtation

This is what I heard from several other agencies and disciplines in Texas.
The majority of them don't like working with Troopers. They're stubborn, very quick tempered and will bend the rules to fit their needs.

I'm actually kind of disgusted the focus is on the traffic stop, and with an officer who had nothing to do with her suicide.

I watched the entire video today and for the life of me can't understand why things went the way they did. I will break it down a little from my perspective.

People say she had a smart mouth. He fucking asked her what was wrong, to which she answered. He cut her off at the end and got an attitude. Right after she told him she thought she was getting fucked with, he should have showed her the warning. I have done that plenty of times and the conversation always takes a positive turn.

Smoking in the car. Yeah I could care less. He was going to give her a warning so whats it matter. Only time I have people put out their cigarette, is when I get them out of the car. Much more in danger of getting burned.

Asking her to step out of the car. This has been upheld by the Supreme Court and is a lawful order. This is where she went wrong.

Taser. Totally justified if some one is resisting arrest. I am a hands on guy myself and not really into the Taser or pepper spray but absolutely justified.

Her death? Terrible it happened but not his fault really. Also jails get busy so not a huge shock it slipped by. Totally sucks, but not the conspiracy it is being made out to be. Oh and she did choose to kick the guy. Absolutely her choice on that.

A series of unfortunate events is what that is. State Troopers are a serious bunch.

That sounds good and all but generally ends up with a bad ending. The lady should have just let the guy throw his trip and went down the road. She seemed kinda crazy and I don't doubt she hung herself.
