I keep a spare also. Funny, when I had home warranty they went out every year on the dot, on a Friday, on a three day holiday. I bought some American made off Ebay and it's been going strong 2 years.

Where in the hell did you find "Made in the USA" ones? I buy start/run capacitors by the case from a seller on Ebay and they are all made in China or Mexico. Tis the season I guess. My downstairs outside unit seems to have a failing fan motor. Makes a screeching sound when it starts up, but will stop if I gently tap the top of it. Never replaced one before, but doesn't seem difficult.
