    They will if the guides have play, which is invariably an issue with oiling. The oiling problem itself tends to start with crap oil and long oil change intervals/low oil situations, but still. The chains on the 4.6 jump damn near only when the oil-fed tensioners are failing.

      The issue is its not that great of a motor. I took good care of that engine barely got to over 100k and took a shit. It was ok but there are better engines

              and I have one that came out of a 200k + mile car that's been road raced for the equivalence of a solid week of endurance racing, including a straight 24 event, and it's been stupid reliable.

                      That's great still wouldn't own another one. Just my opinion. A lot of parts on that motor and when it breaks it gets expensive

                          Replace tensioners and guides at 100k. Keep all that in good shape and it will last a long time. It was a fun car I like more cubes and low end torque though.
