The benefit to pouring it as a unit is structure. Just pouring the curbs and they will eventually sink/twist. Pulling away or cracking the pavers. It will also reduce the amount of bedding sand needed. Cost is about the same if you figure in doing the pavers properly with rock base. I spent ~1000 on my paver patio, doing it myself. It is ~250 sq ft if i had someone pour a slab that big it would have cost right at $1000 and wouldn't have looked near as good.

      I like this idea.

concrete is actually the preferred substrate to pavers to keep them from settling or sinking/swelling with the ground and ending up with an uneven patio or driveway

Then low ball then a bit and let them do it. A couple wheel barrels and a yard of mud from argos, or who ever is closer to you, and you'll be good to go. Fuck fucking with mixing it yourself. Hell if your lucky they can just use some excess from a slab or flatwork close by that they were pouring and you can get it done that way, beaners are shady, you'd be surprised what they will do for some Corona.

I am pretty sure some of our sub contractors do side work for pure profit using surplus material from our jobs. Be it concrete with our rebar or roofing with our decking and shingles

Some Fox Rentals around DFW you can get premix to your ratio. I think up to a yard in a tilt concrete trailer. Way better than mixing your own and carrying bags.

I guaran-damn-tee you your subs are keeping surplus at the very least. I think they all do. Why not though if it is excess that would be trashed, but some of them straight up steal.
