Pouring a concrete slab. Ever done it yourself?

I am a strict DIY'er. Or a cheap skate, depending on how you look at it. Looking at that price, it is a steal, just for the brick work, you are looking at $250-300. I would pay it! That may be the 250 sq ft paver patio tgat I did last weekend talking though.
That said, if you decide to do it yourself, double check your calculation, have the sakrete delivered, and rent a motorized mixer. You should be able to rent one at a local home depot, along with a float to work the mud after it is poured. Or, if you can find a place that will deliver it order from a plant, though most have a minimum yardage before they will give any kind of guarantee on the mud.

Thanks guys. Since most of us live too scattered out to get together and have a beer and chat on such things, I appreciate the feedback I can get here. Ya'll talked me out of it. No amount of beer or ice tea would overcome the heat trying to do it. I'm not mixing this crap. I'll look into other options.
