What's the sickest you have ever been?

Pneumonia at 4 years old, chicken pox at 8 years old, scarlet fever at 11 years old, and then the whole gall bladder/pancreatitis thing at 38 years old. All four of which sucked very badly.

Sickest I have been was definitely earlier this year. Doctor told me a bad sinus infection but I don't remember my last sinus infection putting me down for 3 weeks. My left lymph node in my neck was about the size of a golf ball, at the same time my left ear has an infection so bad it blew my ear drum. I had chills and fever every night constantly having to change out of soaking wet clothes. I could only lay on my left side every single night so my ear could drain. I could barely eat because my neck was so swollen it was hard to chew. Probably doesn't compare to much in this post but damn, I have never been put down that hard from sickness.

I have to absolutely praise my SO though. She helped me recover and took great care of me. She was definitely a saint and lost a lot of sleep during those couple of weeks.

Had an internal staff infection, was in the hospital four weeks, lost 48 pounds, almost lost my colon, almost died, that's about the sickest I've been....

Just got out of hospital, spent 10 weeks there after colectomy due to cancer, 3 surgeries later got septic and got dic, over 50 units of blood products. Er doctors said I had no chance to survive.

3 days of Dr supervision before being admitted to the ER, then hospital for a stomach virus. About 6 hrs later, BP so low they inverted me, finally checked my blood sugar, after about 8 Drs/nurses had heard my complete info. I'm a type 1 diabetic, and the Dr that nearly killed me is the guy that diagnosed me years earlier. He was also a family friend that went to school with my aunt. By this time, my blood sugar set the hospital record, including people that did not survive, at 1172. This also cause complete renal failure for a short time. 3.5 days in ICU and 4 more in the hospital before being released. This was Christmas Eve to New Years 17.5 years ago.

I do not recommend this.

The sickest I've been, was from when I wrecked my bmw. I posted it on here, but I was careflighted with broken bones in my hand and wrist, a chest contusion and a massive concussion. While it wasn't an "illness" that shit had me messed up for almost a month.

And I had a defib paddle burn on my nipple, that sucked.

Back in 2012 I was so sick for about a week that a few of the times I was awake I actually thought dying wouldn't be so bad. I don't remember much of it, but being fine with dying definitely stuck with me.

It was really bad flu I think. By the time I went to the doc I was on my way out of it.

not sure if it counts but i had a large kidney stone wedge itself sideways in the tube between my kidney and bladder. after lithotripsy failed, i was admitted and they ended up having to go up my pee hole to blast the stone away with lazers or something.

i woke up from surgery with the most awkward, painful boner ever experienced and what looked like a couple of pieces of dental floss coming out my dickhole and taped to the side of my junk.. for the next 2-3 days i was pissing what looked like a strawberry puree, and it was probably two weeks before my junk felt any semblance of normal

However, I got to find out today that my 21 y/o woman has breast cancer. Rarest and quickest spreading kind too apparently. Feel pretty helpless right now...
