I stopped listening to political talk radio and feel a ton better about. No coincidence, but I've also changed my stance on a lot of things when I just quit giving a fuck. Letting white noise and minor details become big issues is insane.

              yep...

depending on your personality type/traits/etc. it can be tough to not give a fuck when you're the type to give a fuck...

I'm the type to give a fuck... too much so.

So I have to selectively filter what I take in.

I have a buddy who can eat McDonald's all day every day and never gain an ounce of fat on his body...

I can't, so I have to selectively filter what I take in my body... I also have to filter what I take into my mind.

If there is a silver lining to the dark cloud that is selling recycled auto parts for 8 years, it's that you learn to let go of issues that you cant change or fix. You do what you can, and you get over the fact that there is a lot of shit you cant do a damn thing about, so spending time, energy, or just plain brainpower is a complete waste.

I haven't gotten there yet. I've always been successful based on my attention to detail and fixing problems.

Obsessing/emoting over things that you can't change or even have an effect on will drive a person insane, or make 'em drink a lot. I've had to work really hard at letting that shit go, and it is so incredibly freeing now that I am able to do so.

You can't rid the world of "bullshit," nor can you completely hide from it, all you can do is change how you react to it.

From a personal happiness point of view...it seems to make perfect sense for him. His dog and personal time make him enjoy life more than bs drama.
