TriTek....good choice. I've been going to there for years.

I had them put limo on my truck, while I was waiting a Sgt. from GPD came in the door. The guys up there were all "aww man you're getting a ticket already."

Joke was on me. He was there passing out flyers for a charity event lol.

Ok, now this pisses me off. I dont like to give free advertisement especially when I pay nearly $600 total for tint.

i used tritek a few years ago based on some recs from the board, and i wouldnt use them again. first i think theyre overpriced, but mainly i guess they only do good jobs on newer nicer cars? back window had bubbles in a few spots, cut the corners too shallow on the quarter windows, and less than two years later, the corner has peeled up on the drivers side window.

they also put their shitty tritek emblem on mine as well

Never had any problems there, or had them stick their label on anything, but it's been a couple of years since I've needed anything tinted.

I got the windshields on the F250 and the 4Runner done back in 2013. It does make a difference. Technics in Euless did them, and they did a pretty good job. Not cheap.

They cut a square around the stickers. Interestingly enough, I took my truck to an oil change place by the house to get the inspection done last year, and I didn't think to tell them to be careful of my tint, and they didn't notice it was on there (even though it's not perfectly clear, so it's not hard to see the edge if you're looking at the stickers from the inside). Anyway, they fucked it all up. Assholes. When I pointed it out, they changed the subject to "If we had noticed you had windshield tint, we wouldn't have passed you anyway". I got pretty heated. I had to argue with them for a while and show them the actual law that states it's legal now, but also reminded them that it didn't fucking matter - legal or not, they can't just fuck my shit up and then act justified afterwards because they think it's illegal. And if they thought it was illegal and missed it and passed me, that makes them look even more incompetent. Buncha mouth-breathers. Anyway, I got ahold of the main guy (owner?) for that store, and he made it right.

The F250 and the 4Runner have limo all around except for the front windows. Her fronts pass easily at 30%, but for mine, it's hit or miss. I've had one or two shops test it and not pass me, but most of the time, they don't even check because they don't look very dark.

The Explorer has two layers of limo all the way around, except for the fronts. I had limo in the front and couldn't get it passed for shit. Stripped it, and now I have nothing up front. It looks goofy, but the next owner can tint them however they want. If you do 30% up front and darker on the others, even limo, it doesn't look bad, imo. The darker windows help keep the inside of the vehicle so dark that the lighter fronts don't stand out much.

Oh, and funny it was mentioned in this thread earlier, too, but the 4Runner caught a rock on the highway and now we've got cracks spreading like crazy from where it hit. It does suck to have to replace the windshield and then lose (or have to pay to replace) the tint.

Tritek did a great job for me, but I need to go back for the windshield.

they are required to put that sticker there. it shows it complies with the law.

copied from the link i added on the first page

The language of 547.609 of the Texas Transportation Code was interpreted by the Department as requiring one label for each vehicle regardless of how many windows had sunscreening devices applied to them. As a result, in Chapter 21 of the Texas Administrative Code (TAC), TXDPS requires that only one label be attached to the rearmost, bottom corner of the driver’s side window of the vehicle. The passenger side is optional. The content of the label shall include “Complies with TRC Chapter 547” (or “Complies with TTC 547.613 (b)” which is currently utilized). Any other information on the label, including the installer’s name, is optional.

To keep the inspection place from destroying the windshield tint with their razor of death, before I got inspected the first time, I carefully removed the current sticker with my fingernail and a solvent. I cleaned all of the glue off, then smeared Vaseline on it and got it inspected. When I got home, I peeled the sticker right off (thanks to the Vaseline) and stuck it to Saran wrap, then stuck it back on the window. It stayed there perfectly until the next year. Last year, my wife took the truck to get inspected and the guy used his big ass razor. Now, I need to repair the spot. I just haven't had time to go find the right tint to match up to it.
