To add my .02 I have a 7 year old duralast gold in my wife's car

I had a similar problem with optima batteries in the past but no issues currently.

What gets me is oreilleys, interstate, sears, putting un readable sticker date codes on the batteries. They get you to come back in to door because you can't remember how old the battery is.
