If you had it to do all over again knowing what you do now, and were trying to get rich in the happiest way possible...what would you do.

Im very happy with where im at, but always wondered what it would be like if i had gone other routes. If i had it to do all over i would probably take one of 2 routes:

Be a little smarter with my money, as ive said before im not good at actually investing in the traditional sense. I think staying on my current path i could have a lot more liquid assets if i were smarter.

Or i would have just become a plastic surgeon, but that would mean i am just now starting to work.

Realistically, I would have become a firefighter and lived like a college student with no obligations and saved my money.

-I would have spent less time chasing tail (I've since learned that when you have money, it chases you ;-) )

-I would have stayed in the military longer and learned something more useful on my second enlistment, or maybe gone to school first and become an officer.

-I would have bought real estate when I was younger.


I recently talked with a guy who was retiring at 45 with full O-4 pay for life (there's a variation, but it's a little over $7k/month depending on some details I didn't ask about), and taking a lucrative gig with a defense contractor. I'm 40 with no end in sight.
