I've had much the same experiences he has, with pawn shops. I won't deal with them. Perhaps one might say I got the same feel from it. Scumbags working there with a lousy attitude, looking to completely and utterly lowball the hell out of someone. They're every bit as bad as gamestop, if not worse. Any gamer will know what I mean. And from your dildo comments attacking me when I've said nothing to you, I'd say you fit right in with that crowd.



I've always had an interest in starting one someday. A tote the note lot. Wouldn't be in my ethics to screw anyone, if their car broke down I'd just offer to fix it and tell them that I'd be willing to put the repair bill on the end of their tab. They could just pay another payment or two. Not going to get a better deal than that for mechanic work on a used car you decided to buy. Everybody wins.

If you're willing to do that as a used car lot owner, how are you ever going to be able to be a scumbag?

I clearly know nothing about your business and you are right about my preconceived notions about pawn shops. Prejudices are hard to get past.

You might be surprised at the difference in the business now, versus 25-30 years ago. We are very heavily regulated and monitored. The "cash for gold" places that have popped up everywhere due to PM prices are not regulated. They can melt down and scrap every single day, with no wait period, and no real record keeping. Pawn shops are required to hold any purchased item for 21 days to allow descriptions to be searched against all active police reports.

You want to do business with me? I get every bit of your driver's license info. You are on camera. And after being in the business for several years, you can read people pretty well. I haven't personally been duped into taking a stolen item in about 4 years. (knock on wood). If I'm suspicious, I pass.

Already gave my reasons for not telling people who I was and where I lived online, not my problem if you didn't read it. I'm so sorry if I lie about that kind of stuff because I really don't think its anyone's business who my family is and where they live, because I don't know a bunch of random people on a message board. And then they start saying "yeah huh! yeah huh!! It is you!!", so I maintain that its not. zomg clinical pathological liar that should be locked up!!
