Why are so many people credit card haters? You could spend the same amount of money you do now and get rewarded for doing it. It's a no brainer. I have always paid my credit cards in full each month from day 1.

You make a lot of outrageous claims on here, but this is not one of them. I second this rule. I played the debt game once and I won't go back. Wife and I only owe money on our house. No cc, no car payments awesome. Leaves alot of money to throw at savings or retirement, and of course the house as well.

Saving for retirement? Spend that shit while you're young. Govt will pick up the difference when I'm older.

I don't hate credit cards. All of my business purchasing is done on one but I pay the full balance due the day before the bill post. Every month my bill that comes in the mail is for $0 even when I spent 80k on it that month. I have a moral issue with usury(which to me is ANY interest at all) and that is why I have never borrowed money.

You have a cc with over an 80k/mo limit, yet you have no credit or borrowed money?

I guess I'm missing something here.

I was thinking that same thing, but with his normal claims that statement isn't too surprising.

I have credit but I have never taken out a loan for anything so the score is meaningless. I have a Discover linked to a paypal account and they show my fico score on every statement. The card that I do my business purchasing on is a Chase business card and it does not have an 80k limit; it has a 125k limit. I am not really sure how they come up with credit rating but I believe that having a large credit line for a very long time without carrying a balance ups your numbers by quite a large margin. You could make the argument that I do borrow money by making business purchases on a card but I could do the same thing writing a check for each transaction at my supplier. The card is easier because one supplier will only accept checks for a total of $3500 per day and an equipment set for a good sized pool with a hot tub, water features, slide, and LED lighting can cost 15k-20k on a single invoice.

FYI; I have only done 80k in a month a few times and it was an exceptional month each time.

Im financially stable and I ahve a shitload of credit cards. To make dumb statements like that amazes me. Read some books like Cashflow Quadrant and you may realize leveraging other peoples money can benefit you in different ways. Paying cash on a depreciating asset such as a car doesnt make sense in my opinion when you can loan money at 1.5-2% interest

You know you have until the due date to pay before you get charged interest. I always pay my balance in full each month but on the due date. Something AlP said on the old board forever ago is why I pay on the due date. I don't remember the exact quote. I used to pay like a week or two before the due date but in reality it's all the same to the credit card company so why not hold onto my money a little longer.

Okay genius. Please explain to me how you borrow your way to prosperity. I am all ears.

I have owned hundreds of cars and I have only bought 1 new one and I only did that because it was cheaper then a 3 year old used one. Paying cash for a car that has already depreciated a great deal makes perfect sense to me. Maybe you can show me the error of my ways.

I do not doubt that you are financially stable; I just like to do things my way and try to convert others to it as well.

I pay on the balance as checks come in throughout the month. It is just the way I prefer to do things.

With that much money you could at least be earning a little bit of interest by holding onto it for a bit longer
