I grew up in Duncanville, it's a shithole. I honestly cant believe that some of my friends are still there. MIdlo isnt horrible yet.

Depending on where you want to be, you can buy a house on the golf course in Mansfield, or a few acres in Alvarado for what you are talking about. We're in the same price range, but have a pretty specific set of requirements we want to meet, and with that, havent really found much we both like. My wife and I feel like we settled for the house we are in, and dont want to feel the same way at the next one.

I have a feeling we'll be in ours for a few more years, and end up buying a couple acres to build on.

They had a house here in Denton sell for $110k. 957sqft on a maybe 4k sqft lot. Oh yeah, and it was built in the 50s.

Is it on Ballard road? There has been a couple good sized plots come up on that street for pretty cheap. Reason being, they are planning to build a natural gas power plant near the intersection of willy vester. There are signs on the property where this is suppose to be built, a lot of people seem to be upset about it.

Also you can still get a pretty good deal in white weight and Tom bean if your ok with a long commute depending on your work location. We keep finding 5-10 acre lots for 6-8k an acre. There is also a small "development" if you wanna call it that in Tom bean. The lots are 3.75 acres and the seller was asking around 30k per lot. Only downfall is he put a lot of deed restrictions on the property. Basically you are required to build a 2000+ sq brick house and if you want a shop it has to be brick also. It's located on knob hill road
