  • My Grandma passed this morning.

She made it to 99.75 years old. She had her mind and health all the way til one week before she passed.

She passed with all of us around her peacefully at my aunt's house. This past week we've all been preparing for her passing and now she can go be with my Grandpa, who she's missed since 1993.

    Love You Grandma!

    Sorry for your loss man!

    May she rest in peace
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

It is always heartbreaking when loss happens, but it is always comforting hearing about great full lives that were lived and enjoyed. I am sure there are some great stories out of those 99.75 years!

Thanks guys... she passed in the best possible scenario. We knew she was going downhill last month. We moved her in with my aunt, put her house on the market, divided up all her possessions... she got to know that all of us divided up all her things per the little notes she stuck under every piece of furniture over the years.

She had a house in Forrest Hill that she thought would only be worth 85,000.... heck I did, too. But there was actually a bidding war and it sold for over the asking price - $102,000. She got to know that all that was taken care of, all her affairs in order, etc.

Her prepaid funeral was set up back in the late 70's LOL! cost a whopping $3200.00 for everything. Todays cost would be well over $15,000.

Anyway, I am glad I got to be here for everything, and that I am sober and life is good, and she knew it.

Family that hasn't seen each other in a while have reconnected, and that is good.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

That's pretty awesome. Glad to hear that she went peacefully and that everyone was able to say goodbye properly.

I'm sorry that your grandmother is gone, but it sounds like the situation has brought a lot of positive moments to your family. After a long life, a person couldn't ask for any better than that! RIP
