Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Here's my payroll breakdown for next week.

I'm scheduled for 5,500 miles in 7 days, with 22 stops.

        5,500 miles @ .40 per mile
        22 stops @ $25 each
        7 days per diem @ $40 each

That's as choo choo as I get.

Where we differ from typical drivers is that we interact with our clients. We deliver/pack and install/remove works in galleries, museums, and peoples homes at each stop. So, we have to be presentable, articulate, and courteous.

        • Is your insurance, 401k and all that covered?

That's just what an owner operator I used to haul fuel with said he can easily make. That's his net pay working locally. 2g net x50 wks not too bad IMO. A lot better money than a majority of people make. A lot of co drivers make half that bring home but they can walk away anytime they choose

              Not IMO that's about 100k

Plus you get to see/handle some badass shit. That definitely makes a difference at least in my opinion.

                • Ok so you did just confuse net with gross. That explains.

That is an absolute beating for the amount of revenue taken in on a 1099.

Insurance is, but I do my own investments.

Well I suppose you can write off a lot of stuff. Sounds better than co drivers pay.

                          • Not to mention, sounds like a 7 day a week job. I work a ton of hour, but usually manage 1-2 days off a week which is a blessing. Plus a driver is never home. Even if I'm working a 30+ hour stretch, usually I get to see my kids/wife during that period and interact with them (albeit as a zombie sometimes).

Still, not a bad living though.

                              Thanks

To be honest, I scaled back a lot this year. It's really a hard lifestyle to maintain and remain healthy. I'm doing a run every few weeks, and working 50-60 hours on exhibits and collections here in town. More time with my family, and less time dodging lizards and meth head drivers.
