Just wanted to know if anybody else has had a place that basically supported the entire family in one way or another. I kinda miss it. Got to work with family and friends...met a lot of good people, and a few douches. Some of who are on this site.
I have an OTA antenna and not once has any of the massive storms caused my TV service to go out! Cutting DirecTv was one of the best things I ever did!

But to answer your question, nope, never has my family all worked in the same place, other than occasionally at my Grandpa's paint and body shop. That was not full time tho, just summer work, or buying wrecked cars, fix them and sell them. Lot of us did that!

I started as an estimator and Asst Project Manager, for a company my father worked at for 15 years or so. We are the only ones in our family, that are in this industry though. I do have an uncle, by marriage, that owns a restaurant, but that's very different from what we do.

I worked with him for 2 years, moved on up the supply chain, and he's been a customer of mine for 11-12 years now. Not the same situation, but similar. And the rest of the family hates it because dinner turns to work conversations.

My dad and I were partners. When I left, we didn't speak for several years.

I worked for my old man during and right out of high school.

Had I known then what I know now, I would have stayed around and actually tried to be more involved with the business, than I was.

I worked for my dad a couple of different times, sometimes one of my sisters was there too. My family does own a restaurant that pretty much everyone but myself has worked at.

I'm glad I no longer have to babysit dumbass employees and dumbass GC's that know less about their job than I do (which isn't much). I still manage money, people, and business; but in a very different capacity.

My dad had me working at 13 during summer and winter breaks, that lasted till I was 18. After graduation started surveying full time and stayed at the same company 5 years, then we both had the opportunity to go to a great company that had good benefits etc, I left and went, about 6 months later dad came too. Ten years of working for the place and I'm his supervisor now lol. I can honestly say it's been a blessing my dad is my best friend, but bcoop is right dinner always turns to work conversations.

I come from a long line of Wal-Mart greeters and night stockers (and night stalkers, but that's a different side of the family)

                            so, yes!
