Yeah, I was like NO WAY you were kayaking through that. We went to see the spillway 16-20 hours before it washed out. It was VIOLENT there - some other roads in the area are in bad shape too.

Bachelor party rescued after Lake Travis dock breaks free
VOLENTE, Texas (KXAN) — Multiple rescue boats ferried 18 young men back to shore early Friday from a houseboat set adrift by a severe storm. Shortly before 1 a.m., strong winds ripped part of a dock away from Sandy Creek Marina on Lake Travis. The broken section of dock, as well as the houseboat and another boat, remained attached by service cables, but floated farther into the lake.
A Volente Fire Department team was the first agency to respond. They called for help from Lake Travis Fire Rescue, North Lake Travis Fire Department and the Texas Task Force 1 Water Squad, as well as Austin Fire Department. The agencies used their rescue boats to ferry the men back to the dock.
The men on the houseboat were visiting from Louisiana for a bachelor party. Travis County and the houseboat owners were working to find them another place to stay temporarily.
Austin-Travis County EMS medics were on standby, but there were no reports of injuries.
