350 homes gone and many missing in Wimberley. Blanco crested at close to 40' highest since 1939. Beautiful area just wiped away. All the 100 year old Cypress Trees that lined the banks are gone.

My parents live in Wimberley, but nowhere near the river (any longer; they did get flooded out about 15 years back). They had a church friend who lives by the water posting on facebook about how the water had only gotten to 21' in the past, and she wasn't going anywhere. Ended up with no home, no car, no possessions. Went back to fbook to moan about it.
There were 12 people from Corpus staying in two cabins. Doctors Welch and Woodson, along with their wives, got out. Allegedly, they went to their friend's place to say "get out!" but they didn't. The other house made up 7 of the 8 who are missing, only Jonathon was discovered (alive), he's in bad shape in the hospital. His wife, his two kids (4 & 6), his wife's parents and another family are all still missing. Most of that is in the news on Callertimes.com; I know Jonathon and his wife, his kids are/were the same ages as mine +/-.
There's nothing more depressing than the thought of burying a child.Ronald Reagan:"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."
Homer: "Bart...there's 2 things I know about women. Never give them nicknames like "jumbo" or "boxcar" and always keep receipts...it makes you look like a business man."
