  • Fathers for Equal Rights/Attorneys

Long story short, 4 years ago my ex willingly gave me custody of my son so that she and husband #3 (Army stationed at Ft. Hood) could "focus on themselves"... Fast forward to now, she is on husband #4, which was the best friend of her last husband and same MOS in the Army...She wants my son to move back and live with her, and I feel has guilted and made promises to my son to get him to agree with her. I said NO, not happening, so now she wants to take me to court for custody...

Is it worth it to join Fathers For Equal Rights and use their attorneys or would I be better served looking for another attorney?

I know I have a long road ahead of me, with thousands in legal fees... Anybody want to buy some guns? Or maybe I can start a GoFundMe page like so many others do...
This couldn't have come at a worse time.

Thanks for any help or advice you can give!

We have been divorced for 11 years and she had custody of my son up until 4 years ago when she gave me custody. Appreciate the offer to chat, May take you up on that in the coming weeks...

Absolutely. I have legal custody through the courts.

I had Jr for the 2yr while separated, but still married. Her lawyer begged for mediation vs taking the fact I had raised Jr solo for the past 2-3 in front of a judge. I think you gonna be good!

                  God bless.

The thought has crossed my mind...

Absolutely worth it to join. I don't know what the fee is, but $150 (what it was when I was a member) is a drop in the bucket.

I agree with Paul. You're good. Even as anti father as Texas has traditionally been, it takes a LOT for a judge to remove the child from the current situation. And the longer you've had the child, the better off you are. I'd still join for peace of mind. I'm available for discussion as well. Maybe the three of us can go get wings or something one night.

You would lower yourself to wings? Surely not chicken wings, must be some kind of delicacy. Maybe bat wings deep fried in duck fat?
