I'll be 34 in November, and the next month I'll have a degree in Economics, with a minor in Accounting. I'm interning this summer for an environmental research group on campus.

That becomes addictive at first, then grows into a chore. Just stay at the front end of it.

Exactly why I'm not quitting my day job just yet. I can ease in to it, get equipment at my pace, rather than borrowing money to do it. Luckily I've got the flexibility to live so far out, and put a few hours a day in to a small operation to get my feet wet before making a commitment. I've currently got my eyes on a 55 acre plot, and a 75 acre plot, but I look at new places every few days. I feel I've got the connections I need to do something special with farm to table stuff. Kenny is going to be 18 before too long and it's something he has interest in as well.

Nice! I was just in the cruise ships for the free food, room and atmosphere while at work. We could essentially get rid of everything and work continuously. Most people working on them don't want to keep doing rotation after rotation. I'm all about it.

I checked into this years ago, and most of the people on the ships hated it. Cramped quarters, no time to enjoy it, running all day, etc etc. Like a big circus on water.


I have thought about going the route of Marine Biologist or something along those lines. Wife said "jump" when I feel froggy.

Ive worked with accountants, but believe it or not...ive never worked with an economist. I just now realized that. Good luck!

I haven't really thought about it any, there are a few things I'd like to do as a side gig, but I don't know that I'd like them enough to make a career change of it (own a CNC and machine prototypes/one off/limited run stuff). I'm really good at what I do, I make decent money, especially for the area and the place I work for is pretty chill outside of a few fucky things. I'll never be rich working here, but I make more than enough money to get my bills paid and then some.
