    I'd change.

I want to be a professional hunter in Africa. I got offered to start my apprenticeship at 17and turned it down to stay stateside for a freaking girl. I kick myself in the nuts for that one.

Mostly, and yes.. I have talked to a few of them while on cruises and they had some very interesting stories. But cramped living, long hours, etc. Supposedly they have some off-the-chain parties though.

Most of the key entertainment and activities people are American, and they live much better than the run of the mill crew.. That would be the way to go.

I despise commuting around the metroplex, so these days, I don't do much more than work and watch TV. I camp as much as I can during the cooler months, but nothing here compares to the camping up there, and I just flat out will not do it here once the temp gets above 80 degrees.
all I've been doing lately in my spare time is walking/hiking with my dog in the 90 acre "wilderness" behind my house...

the wife actually asked me two nights ago if I wanted to just buy a place in Colorado and move up there without her... not for ever, but just to get away from this bullshit whenever necessary. she's watched me slowly unravel over the years being too far for too long from my home. I thought that was a mighty kind gesture of her.

Kip's grill in Creede will fuck you in the face 6 ways from Sunday if you need good food. So you're not THAT far from good eats

Lake City restaurant choices kinda blow, but I'm perfectly fine eating a cold bologna sandwich if I'm stress free, breathing clean air, and looking at mountains.

Ya, like kitchen and cleaning hands. I'm not doing that, though. Even then, if you have no expenses, any salary would just be cake.

I think I figured out my dream job would be that of Wayne Carini on "Chasing Classic Cars". Meeting the wealthy and famous while flying all over the world to assess purchases or sales on the behalf of the clients. Getting to attend all these amazing shows and drive amazing cars. I would find some way to be charitable not just with money, but take people for rides that are young, ill, aged just to put smiles on their faces.

                This..

I went to high school in a small town. Not quite as small as Lake City, but no fast food (other than the fried stuff at the 1 gas station). We did have a few sit-down restaurants, but none were great. We ate out maybe every other week, at most.

We were a lot closer to bigger towns / cities than Lake City, but I do really feel like I got that small mountain town living experience, and loved every bit of it. We were outside of the town limits, on 10 acres surrounded by trees. I really want to get back to something like that in the future.

Here, I attached the maps view, and street view. You can't tell from the map, but the house sat well above the street, looking out over the Columbia River, and you could see almost 50 miles or so, to Portland..

The house that is there now is actually newer. The people who bought from my dad bulldozed the old house (was a small 3 bedroom) and built a new one where our "backyard" was.

Haha, I know, but you joined before me. I wasn't on here until mid '04, and by that time he was out of high school.

I've been with the same company for 17 years, have been seriously talking to a couple of my colleagues about getting out and starting our own thing in the next year or so. It's not so much that I want the headache of owning my own business, but more-so that we are aware of a niche market oppty, and if executed correctly we could be very successful and likely sell out and kick back several more years down the road.

I like money, I have a little...I keep it in a jar on top of the fridge, but I want more.

Since the start of the year, I have done 6 engine swaps, a rebuild, and a truckload of misc shit. I have the government taxing me on money that I haven't received, a never ending stack of broken down repos, and the rain is straight up raping my sales. So yeah, I am fairly disgusted with my current line of work.

I like the flexibility to just walk out for a flordia road trip, but yeah, I am considering a total revamp. The problem is that I really only know how to do one thing and that is turn wrenches.

I quit a reasonably promising career in food manufacturing to go back to school at 30. I'm almost done, and I'm ready to get back to work.
