It can be a royal pain in the ass. My buddy went through the process recently with his Model A that he built from scratch, but I know few details.

He had to have the car inspected multiple times by multiple buerocracys, stamp numbers in the frame/engine/body and then get a title. He was stressing over it for awhile but he succeeded.

Guy i know is building a series 7 or whatever those are, and he has to have it inspected by a certified master ase tech and have the certification notarized a long with a bunch of other stuff

It's a lot easier if you can just count it as a modified whatever based on the VIN of the body/chassis you started with. What's it based on?
