  • lake whitney camping info needed.

I want to take the family camping at the end of may on lake whitney. I have never been out there. Im trying to find a place we can camp with lake access to the campsite so i can leave the boat in the water overnight. i want too be able to be on the boat a bit and then back too the campsite and then back on the boat.

Loeffers Bend park is where I always camp. Has power, water and showers. Its a RV camp site but worth it in the summer. If you want to camp for free and leave your boat in the water no power, no showers, no water go to Waling Bend. I have gone every year for the past 10 years I love that place. Going to make a trip in June as well.

Hamm Creek Park on the Brazos River above Whitney... very nice facilities.

Cedron Creek Park. White rock so no muddy water, water is cleaner and clearer. Plus my favorite, the liquor store is in walking distance. Best place

Not really at Hamm Creek Park normally, but with all the recent rain, maybe now. You might check at Plowman's State park on Whitney for that type of camp site. It's a pretty nice park as well.
