I thought all DPD in Dallas were in pairs now?
My bet would be that it was DART police not DPD. If DPD or DSO were in a fight then it would rain police. If DART gets in to one they are pretty spread out and would take longer. Also hence when he cled dispatch they told him all units were tied up that's because it was probably DPDs dispatch and they knew nothing of the situation. Just my theory though.

PM me if you have his name. It might be someone I used to work with. More than likely someone Luis knew.

Ya, it's already in place in certain areas, but the goal,is department wide.

Way to stand up and do what you believe in. They're all just pissed because you helped take down their local dealer I suppose. I'm not racist and living in the sticks, we don't see those types of situations really, but fuck a bunch of the "we were slaves, you are oppressing us" bullshit mentality that these welfare, mouching, low lifes seem to have. We have to deal with white, racist, meff moufh, junkie thieves mostly.

I see now that it was a DART officer, I would have tazed his ass first and then arrested and waited for backup.

When I radioed in an assist in Cockrell Hill, DPD was monitoring and the hand of God came down in (which seemed) minutes. Southwest DPD officers don't play around.

Good for you. Don't be depressed, as you possibly saved that cop's life.

It is very frustrating to see the downfall of society knowing that you are trying to raise children. I struggle with that as well.

Shiet if you had one... I serve felony warrants all day and don't have a taser. I've worked for DSO for going on 13 years now and have never maced anyone either. Been in lots of fights but even if I had a taser I can only think of a very few times I could have actually used it.

Man, sounds like a messed up situation.

I wouldn't even expect "corner" drug dealers to be out in that area at 6:40AM on a Thursday, let alone 50 other bystanders. Then again, I have probably only been down in that area on a weekday morning like once in the last 15 years (Jury Duty).

I'm also surprised that back-up response was slow. Isn't the courthouse right there? Maybe too close to shift change.

Anywho - You did the right thing, and kudos for the major "sack" to be willing to jump in with an aggressive crowd like that.

That's a sad situation, but I can't say I blame them. I do feel the obvious needs to be stated, however. If LE did a better job of policing their own, public support wouldn't be as pitiful as it is now.
