  • Tax protesting

Has anyone utilized a tax protesting service with much luck? I've used O'Connor & Assc. out of Houston in the past with some decent results. I just don't have the time to go down and mess with these jerk offs at the appraisal district.

Gotta protest mine too. House appraised about right, but they are smoking crack on the land value...
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

My house's "estimated taxable value" went up 30k. That brings my yearly property taxes up to around 5 or 6 grand. I think I'm going to have to protest. Should be fun, since this is the first time I've ever done it.

Protest both either way, it only has an effect on your taxes.

Called the TAD the other day and handled it all over the phone in 10 minutes. No phone prompts, no getting passed around, dialed the direct number and the appropriate guy picked up on the first ring. We came to an agreement, he emailed a pdf to sign and done.
