Bidding on a vehicle at a dealer. Auction hasn't ended yet. Said dealer called me on my cell today. Checked around my Ebay account, don't see my number anywhere. Any idea where he got my number ? I didn't think to ask him. Nice guy, but typical salesman.."What can I do to earn your business"...

He got it from your account information, some how. You should give me your ebay u/p and I'll look around to see where it's posted.

OK. figured it out. My Ebay user name is similar enough to my email and if you google that, you will find a link to me. He had to do some digging to get the phone though...I'm usually pretty good about keeping my number off the web, he found a pretty old post. Gotta hand it to him, he wants to sell.

Look again under Account > Personal Information > Registered Name and Address

It was a required field when I signed up years ago.

Also, I'm sure he didn't scour the internet looking for you. Probably just used this http://www.ebay.com/sch/ebayadvsearch?_sofindtype=9
