I drove a 26' Uhaul from North Carolina to Colorado towing a trailer with a mustang on it, the truck handled everything just fine. Only thing that sucked was loading and unloading that big ass truck.
Moving back to North Carolina next month and letting someone else move my stuff now that I have a kid.De Oppresso Liber.

Congrats Jluv.. i know how long you've intended on this.
I used mayflower/allied or whatever for my corporate moves, which was spectacular but undoubtedly expensive. I think they paid $2800 just to ship the GT up here. You would be surprised at how much shit they fit into those trucks, all my household goods were contained on that 8x8 or 10x10 spot up front over the hitch, the bikes/skis/buggy/car used up the rest of the trailer.

I've got my shit Tetris-style in two storage units - a 10x20 and a 10x10. Heck, I've got almost 10x10 in just Christmas and Halloween decorations.
That reminds me - I've got a pool table FREE to anyone who will come get it. I'm not helping, though, other than to open the storage door and clear a path. After moving it from my last place into storage, I swore I'd never move it another inch.

Talked to my realtor up there today. Definitely no way an 18-wheeler is getting to the house, but a large box truck should make it. He said what a lot of people do is have the 18-wheeler bring everything as far as they can, and move stuff off of it onto a box truck and take loads up that way.
Another thought - I remembered that I have an old buddy who owns a moving company in Fort Collins. Maybe I can fill up a big POD and have it shipped to him there, and then have them bring my stuff from there to Lake City in two of their box trucks.
Either way, it's probably going to cost me a small fortune.
