  • Wanting to do a facelift on my 93GT.... thoughts...suggestions

    My blk/blk 93 GT has been sitting for the last ten years and needs a facelift before I put my motor back in it........

    My plastics and ground effects are cracking and slightly warping and need to be replaced so Im thinking about buying the complete cervini cobra body kit. Im also thinking about running two paint colors, a titanium or gun metal on top and blk on the bottom like this....

    I have rust spots under the paint on my hatch....is it worth buying the fiberglass hatch and just replacing it? Is it cheaper/easier when dealing with a body shop to have all the new parts such as hatch and body kit? Will probably put a cowl hood on it also.

    So my biggest rub is finding a place to have it done....I can do everything mechanical but have zero skills in the paint and body department but would like a person that can give me options on the best way to go... Im not looking for a full restoration, just a make over but dont want a Macco job either.....what do I budget $ wise?

    Thoughts....? I live in N Ft Worth but can take it anywhere....

    Is the cowl hood actually necessary? If not, start by getting rid of that.

          Leave it all black do a cobra clone of you need new ground effects. Maybe look into one of the detail guys just doing paint restoration.

                  I don't like the lines for two toning on foxes. I'd just do a solid black cobra clone. You can buy a 1.5" cowl and I think those look pretty sick, but I'm also a guy who spent a good bit of extra time and money to be able to stick a 351w under a stock hood. You should be able to find a hatch without rust. One of my parts cars is a 90 gt and it doesn't have any rust.

                          Just find some nice bumpers and leave it stock, maybe get a cobra grill insert and rear bumper. If you don't like the side skirts. Just ditch them all together.

                          Stock hood with stock lights and call it a day.
