I know of several shops that use PVC for their air systems and never had an issue for the several years I was aware. Is this "blowing" and "brittle" issue actually fact, or just theory?

Fact. It's not designed for the pressures that air systems run on. Tons of people call all plastic tubing PVC but it's not, so they'll let you think that PVC is ok to use. I'm usually down for some sketchy stuff, but I'll never use true PVC in an air system.

It's a fact. The shop I used to work at had explosions weekly. It's cheap and easy to repair quickly but it's just a bad injury waiting to happen. Shards of plastic are probably still stuck in the insulation around that place.

I never had an explosion in my home shop and it was there for 10 years, but after I saw it happen at work, I quickly removed all of it.

Got it all installed this weekend. No leaks the first time. Sure is nice not having to carry a hose all over the place now. Now I just need to install my 2 hose reels.
