        How do you stream Vue?
I use Fire TV, seems to sync so far, but limited viewing.

          • so after calling comcast and requesting a service downgrade to just keep the internet I am staying with comcast...

first call i was just getting quotes they offered a 20$ start off my bill every month i said would think about it. Today called back same package i have now and upgraded DVR to the X1 and they offered 40$ off what i pay now, i said i have no use for the home phone wanted to downgrade again, they threw out 60$ off.

SO i was paying 195 a month after taxes...now will be paying 116 a month after i added my own modem and dropped their rental fee. All that being said, cheapest internet was 80$ that was worth a dang, so ends up being cheaper staying than keeping net and getting VUE and hulu

I did not know these things were so negotiable!

            • Not sure about this free T.V., but it seems everyone is always complaining about prices. I haven't had cable T.V. since 1996, I've been with DTV, I don't have any of the movie channels or extra content. I do have the local channels, HD channels, Sports pkg and since they merged with AT&T I have decent home internet all for $96.xx a month.
I quit cable T.V. a long fucking time ago, sitting on the phone (landline) for an hour at a time just so they could reset the box after a strong thunderstorm was bullshit.
I've never really lost a signal due to weather since the storms pass through and if it is something thats prolonged I just switch over to my digital antennae, but that doesn't happen very often.

Cable companies are losing thousands of customers every day, to streaming services. They are scared shitless their gravy train is going to end, so they will do damn near anything to keep a customer and lock them in to a new contract. They know their days are numbered.

Hopefully a new internet service startup comes along and tosses the dirt on their graves. Cable is such a fucking racket in this country, with the whole appearance that they don't have a monopoly on our internet/tv service. We have a mere illusion of free choice.

AT&T seemed to not give one shit when I cut our TV service a year ago. They wouldn't negotiate at all. All they really did was give me another 5 gig of data on my cell plan.

                    • Get an Amazon Fire TV and put Kodi on it. Get the Exodus add on and call it a day. Get a $10 antenna for local high Def channels. That's the cheapest way to go.

Wanna go fancy? Then get an Intel i7 computer to set up as a server. Get some plex, playon, and borrow a friend's credentials to stream cable chamnels.

                        • I had a hookup with a good pal on using his HBO GO. But either he cut it or I got logged out when ATT Internet went out. No more Games of Throne.

Maybe it has changed, but when I looked in to it you could not

It's really as easy as logging in and searching the show you want to watch.. The cost of everything is literally one month of cable.. No excuses, hurry up! Haha
                              "PSH!!!"

They'll do damn near anything except cut prices or improve customer service which are the two things that people want from them.

Cable originally started out as a way to avoid commercials and to have more channels. Then the commercials crept in, and the prices started going up - think "cash cow" - they were getting paid from both ends. There were no other options, so we were locked in as consumers.

Now (as you said) - customers have other choices and many (such as myself) have cut the cord and they STILL haven't figured out that they will die if they don't make changes. If my cable bill were $70-80 a month with a reasonable number of non-crap channels i'd still have cable, but I ain't paying $160+ a month for it.

I look for the cable companies to impose data caps and implement a tiered pricing model to get back some of that lost revenue. Judging from the comments that I see here thats already happening.

Greed and substandard service always opens the door for competition. The cable companies opened that door and they only have themselves to blame for it.
